Not much is actually known of the NMU Baseball team prior to the 2001 season. Records were not well kept, and what we could find was destroyed during a remodeling of the sixth floor of Cohodas, where the records were located, in 2001.

Alumni of the sport have been hard to track down for any information regarding these early seasons.
