Jim Pool had no trouble shutting down the Alaska Pacific Pine Logs today for the teams eighth win of the season.
Pool gave up 2 runs on just 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 10.
What rallies the Pine Logs did have were quickly shut down as the 'Cats turned three double plays. Offensively,
the Wildcats got production from catcher Jody Davis, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and two doubles, and
right fielder James Hass who drove in four runs on three singles.
A Sean Belotte homer put the icing on the cake in the ninth. New pitcher Jean "Spike" Chiquet came on and
pitched 2 brilliant innings to close the game.
"We jumped out early and never gave up," Manager Rob Preseau said. "After two tough games yesterday, we
needed to jump out to a quick lead and not give up." The Wildcats take their perfect record up the road
to face Alaska-Fairbanks tomorrow evening.
